The Golden Record is a phonograph record that was mounted on the Voyager 1 & 2 spacecrafts in the 1970’s. Both have a collection of sights and sounds from Earth in case they are encountered by extraterrestrial life. The special part of the record is the cover, which has special instructions that any language would be able to understand.

For this assignment, each student had to pick a topic to design a Forever USA stamp. With the Golden Record’s 50th anniversary  approaching, I felt it fitting that such an important piece of space history get its own stamp. My design uses simple shapes and colors that are easily scalable and visually appealing.
